Add a New Private Custom App

When creating a new app you can add either a Custom App for an internal app, called a Private Custom App, or for an external CSP that your company uses, you'll create a Public App.

Public apps extend the MVISION Cloud platform to apps that run on your organization's infrastructure but fall outside the set of Sanctioned IT CSPs that MVISION Cloud supports. No changes are required to the way you host an app to add it to your MVISION Cloud account.

To add a new Private Custom App:

  1. Choose Custom Apps > My Apps.
  2. Click Add Application.
  3. Click Private Custom Application.
  4. Under Information, enter the following:
    • Hostname. Type the location where the app is hosted.
    • Name. Type an easily recognizable name for the app.
    • Description. Enter a description of the app.
    • Application Category. This menu contains a list of all the categories used by the MVISION Cloud Global Registry. Choose the option that most closely describes the data captured by the app.
    • Logo. If you'd like to include an optional logo to brand your app, click Browse and then choose a file to upload.
  5. Under Risk Assessment, choose options (as many as apply) for the following:
    • Who has access? Choose the type of users, and if SSO will be used to authenticate the users.
    • Where is it hosted? Choose the location where the app is hosted.
    • What data is in it? If the app could possibly capture PCI, HIPAA, or PII information, select the option(s).
  6. Click Save.

To add a new Third-Party Custom App:

  1. Choose Custom Apps > My Apps.
  2. Click Add Application.
  3. Click Public Application.
