Customize the DLP Dictionary

Create a custom DLP dictionary by adding text strings and wildcard expressions that match the data you want to be blocked from leaving your network.

The DLP dictionary searches data leaving your network for strings that match the text or wildcard expressions in the dictionary. When a match is found, the data is blocked from leaving your network.

For example, you can add "COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL" to the dictionary and specify that the match is case-sensitive. The web policy then blocks any document containing this string when all letters are capitalized.

  1. In Skyhigh CASB , select Policy > Web Policy > Feature Configuration.
  2. Select DLP Dictionaries > DLP Dictionary.
  3. From the Actions list, select Clone and Edit.
  4. Provide a name for the feature configuration and an optional comment.
  5. Click Add Dictionary Item, then configure the text or wildcard expressions that you want to be added to the DLP dictionary and an optional comment.
    • Text — Enter a text string, then configure these options. When selected, the DLP dictionary feature:
      • Case-sensitive — Blocks data containing the text string when the letter cases also match.
      • At start of word — Blocks data containing the text string when it occurs at the beginning of a word.
      • At end of word — Blocks data containing the text string when it occurs at the end of a word.
    • Wildcard expression — Enter a regular expression using Perl regular expression syntax. Optionally select Case-sensitive, then test your entry.
  6. When you are finished adding entries to the DLP dictionary, click Save.

You can publish saved changes to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.
