Configuring McAfee Enterprise Gateway Anti-Malware Rules

From this ruleset, you can open and configure the McAfee Enterprise® Gateway Anti-Malware (GAM) feature. Depending on your settings, web requests are allowed to skip GAM processing.

GAM is a multiplatform threat protection component incorporated into McAfee Enterprise web gateway products including McAfee Enterprise® Web Gateway and McAfee Enterprise® Web SaaS, McAfee Enterprise® Advanced Threat Defense, McAfee Enterprise® Network Security Platform. GAM detects and blocks a broad range of malware threats including viruses and worms to adware, spyware, ransomware, and exploits. The GAM engine is designed for deployment at the network perimeter or in the cloud.

To configure GAM Rules:

  1. Go to Policy > Web Policy > Policy.

  2. In the Policy Browser, select Threat Protection > Anti-Malware.
