Using Client IP to limit the scope of a Rule Set

 

The Client IP is the IP address of the endpoint. Endpoints include the laptops and devices that your users are using to access the internet. You can select one or more lists of IP address ranges and specify whether the rule set applies to traffic having a client IP address in these lists or not in these lists.

To use Client IP to limit the scope of a rule set:

  1. Go to Policy > Web Policy > Policy. 

  2. In the policy tree, select a branch, then select a rule set.

  3. Click Edit above the list of rules.

  4. Select Client IP, then click Save.

  5. Click the Configure link next to Client IP and above the list of rules.The Apply Rules If Client IP pane opens. Select an option:

    • is. The rules in the rule set apply to traffic having a client IP address in the selected IP range lists.

    • is not. The rules in the rule set apply to traffic having a client IP address not in the selected IP range

      lists.

  6. Select one or more lists of IP address ranges. 
  7. Click Save.
