Using Connection IP ranges to limit the scope of a rule set

The connection IP is the IP address of the firewall or other device between your organization's network and the cloud (your public IP address). You can select one or more lists of IP address ranges and specify whether the rule set applies to traffic having a connection IP address in the lists or not in the lists.

To use Connection IP to limit the scope of a rule set:

  1. Go to Policy > Web Policy > Policy.

  2. In the policy tree, select a branch, then select a rule set.

  3. Click Edit above the list of rules.

  4. Select Connection IP, then click Save.

  5. Click the Configure link next to Connection IP and above the list of rules. The Apply Rules If Connection IP pane opens. Select an option:

    • is — The rules in the rule set apply to traffic having a connection IP address in the selected IP range lists.

    • is not — The rules in the rule set apply to traffic having a connection IP address not in the selected IP range lists.

  6.  Select one or more lists of Connection IP address ranges.

  7. Click Save.

Changes to the policy tree, rule sets, or rules are automatically saved locally. You can publish them to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.
