Using User Groups to limit the scope of a Rule Set

 

You can select one or more lists of user groups and specify whether the rule set applies to traffic having a user group in the lists or not in the lists. 

To use User Groups to limit the scope of a rule set:

  1. Go to Policy > Web Policy > Policy.

  2. In the policy tree, select a branch, then select a rule set.

  3. Click Edit above the list of rules.

  4. Select User Group, then click Save.

  5. Click the Configure link next to User Group and above the list of rules. The Apply Rules If User Group pane opens. Select an option:

    • is — The rules in the rule set apply to traffic having a user group in the selected lists of user groups.

    • is not — The rules in the rule set apply to traffic having a user group not in the selected lists of user groups.

  6. Select one or more lists of user groups.

  7. Click Save.

Changes to the policy tree, rule sets, or rules are automatically saved locally. You can publish them to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.
