Activity Control Rules
Activity Control rules allow you to define the criteria using which user activities are blocked for shadow cloud services. You can configure the following Activity Control rules in the Activity Control ruleset:
Service Groups
The Service Groups rule allows you to restrict a user's login, upload, and download activities for multiple shadow cloud service groups. You can use this rule to specify which user activities require a block for the corresponding service groups. For details on service groups, see Service Groups.
Configure Service Groups
To configure Service Groups:
- Under Service Groups, click Add Service Groups.
- From the Select Service Groups menu, select the service groups that require a restriction on user activities, then click Save.
The service groups are added to the Service Groups rule on the Activity Control rule set. - On the Activity Control page, under Service Groups, click Select Activities to Block corresponding to the service group.
- From the Activities menu, select the checkbox corresponding to the user activities and click OK.

Service Category
The Service Category rule allows you to restrict the login, upload, and download user activities for multiple shadow cloud service categories. You can use this rule to specify which user activities require a block for the corresponding cloud service categories. For details on cloud service categories and sub categories, see Cloud Service Categories.
Configure Service Category
To configure Service Category:
- Under Service Category, click Add Service Category.
- From the Select Service Category menu, select the service categories that require a restriction on user activities, then click Save.
NOTE: The Service Category menu allows you to select the service category along with their sub categories.
The service categories are added to the Service Category rule on the Activity Control rule set. - On the Activity Control page, under Service Category, click Select Activities to Block corresponding to the service category.
- From the Activities menu, select the checkbox corresponding to the activities that you want to be blocked and click OK.

Individual Services
The Individual Services rule allows you to restrict specific user activities for multiple shadow cloud services. You can use this rule to specify which user activities require a block for the corresponding individual services.
Configure Individual Services
To configure Individual Services:
- Under Individual Services, click Add Individual Services.
- From the Select Individual Services menu, select the individual services that require a restriction on user activities, then click Save.
The individual services are added to the Individual Services rule on the Activity Control rule set. - On the Activity Control page, under Individual Services, click Select Activities to Block corresponding to the individual service.
- From the Activities menu, select the checkbox corresponding to the activities that you want to be blocked and click OK. You can select the user activities based on the selected shadow cloud service.
NOTE: The Activities menu for Individual Services contains additional activities along with activity subsets. For example, you can block the upload of photos and resumes on LinkedIn.
