Restore Your Configuration from a Backup File

You can restore a web policy configuration on Secure Web Gateway using a backup file where you have saved this configuration.

For example, after working on this configuration for some time, you might wish to abandon what you configured last and revert to a previous state. For this purpose, you can use a backup file that you created before.

NOTE: You can restore the configurations only to the tenant from which you take the backup. For example, you can restore Tenant A backup only on tenant A. You cannot restore tenant A backup on tenant B. The cross-tenant restore is currently not supported.

The configuration in the backup file includes your web policy settings, feature configurations, list catalog, and end user notification templates.

  1. On the user interface for Secure Web Gateway, place your mouse pointer over the settings icon in the top right corner, then select Infrastructure > Web Gateway Setup from the drop-down menus.

  2. On the setup main page, scroll down to Backup and Restore Secure Web Gateway and click Restore.

  3. On the Restore Secure Web Gateway page, make sure Restore from Backup File is selected.

  4. Click Browse and locate the backup file on your system, then under Password, type the password that was set when the backup file was created.

  5. Click Restore.

The web policy configuration that was saved in the backup file is restored on Secure Web Gateway.
