Bypass the Proxy Server

You can bypass the proxy server in the following ways:

Allow all local traffic to bypass the proxy server

You can bypass the proxy server for all local traffic, including traffic sent to local addresses inside your organization's network.

  1. On the Skyhigh SSE navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
  3. In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies to open the SCP Configuration page.
  4. Select a policy from the policy tree.
  5. On the Admin tab, select Bypass All Proxies for Local Traffic to bypass all proxies for local traffic.
  6. Click Save.

You can publish saved changes to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.

Allow traffic sent from configured processes to bypass proxy

You can configure the list of processes in the bypass list. The Client Proxy software bypasses all traffic from these processes. A process list is a list of processes that run on the endpoints. Windows process names must end with .exe. macOS process names don't require a file name extension. You can add, edit, remove and view the lists of items added to the bypass list. You can use the import and export option to upload and download the process list.

  1. On the Skyhigh SSE navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
  3. In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
  4. Select a policy in the policy tree.
  5. Click the Proxy Bypass tab.
  6. Select Bypass all proxies for traffic from these processes to open Process to send to alternate proxy.
  7. From the Add Process drop-down list, select Add Inline.
    • Process — Enter the process name. Windows process names must end with .exe. macOS process names don't require a file name extension.
    • Comment — Enter additional information.
    • +— Click this to configure another process.
  8. To import processes from the .csv file:
    • From the Add Process drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of processes. Select the file and click Open. The processes in the .csv file are added to the list.
  9. To export processes to the .csv file:
    • From the Add Process drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads the configured processes to the .csv file.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Save.

Allow traffic sent to configured domains to bypass proxy

You can configure domain names, edit, remove, and view them in the bypass list. The Client Proxy software bypasses all traffic sent to configured domains. You can use the import and export option to upload and download the bypass lists.

  1. On the Skyhigh SSE navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
  3. In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
  4. Select a policy from the policy tree.
  5. Click the Proxy Bypass tab.
  6. Select Bypass all proxies for traffic to these domains to open Bypass traffic to the domains.
  7. From the Add Domain drop-down list, select Add Inline.
    • Domain — Enter the domain name. The traffic from all domains and sub domains resolving to the same IP address will be bypassed. Example, if abz.com and subdomain.abz.com and xyz.com are hosted in the same IP address IP1, then all traffic to IP address IP1 will be bypassed.
    • Comment — Enter additional information.
    • + — Click this to configure another domain name.
  8. To import domain names from the .csv file:
    • From the Add Domain drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of domain names. Select the file and click Open. The domain names in the .csv file are added to the list.
  9. To export domain names to the .csv file:
    • From the Add Domain drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads the configured domain list to the .csv file.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Save.

You can publish saved changes to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.

Allow traffic sent to configured ports to bypass proxy

You can configure the port number in the bypass list. The Client Proxy software bypasses all traffic sent to configured ports. You can add, edit, remove and view the lists of items added to the bypass list. You can use the import and export option to upload and download port numbers.

  1. On the Skyhigh SSE navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
  3. In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
  4. Select a policy from the policy tree.
  5. Click the Proxy Bypass tab.
  6. Select Bypass all proxies for traffic on these ports to open Bypass traffic to the ports.
  7. From the Add Port drop-down list, select Add Inline.
    • Port — Enter the port number.
    • Comment — Enter additional information.
    • + — Click this to configure another port number.
  8. To import port numbers from the .csv file:
    • From the Add Port drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of port numbers. Select the file and click Open. The ports in the .csv file are added to the list.
  9. To export port numbers to the .csv file:
    •  From the Add Port drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads all configured port numbers to the .csv file
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Save.

Bypass traffic sent to configured IP addresses

You can configure the IP address in the bypass list. The Client Proxy software bypasses all traffic sent to configured IP addresses. You can add, edit, remove and view the lists of items added to the bypass list. You can use the import and export option to upload and download the list of IP addresses.

  1. On the Skyhigh SSE navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
  3. In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
  4. Click the Proxy Bypass tab.
  5. Select Bypass all proxies for traffic to these destination IP addresses to open Bypass traffic to the IP addresses.
  6. From the Add IP Address drop-down list, select Add Inline.
    • IP Address — Enter the IP address.
    • Comment — Enter additional information.
    • + — Click this to add another IP address.
  7. To import IP address from the .csv file:
    • From the Add IP Address drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of IP addresses. Select the file and click Open. The IP addresses in the .csv file are added to the list.
  8. To export IP address list to the .csv file:
    • From the Add IP Address drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads the configured IP addresses to the .csv file.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click Save.
