Using Different Views for Working with Secure Web Gateway

There is an old and new view of the user interface that you work with when configuring your web policy under Secure Web Gateway. These views differ in the functions they provide you with.

Whether you work with the old or new view depends on when you purchased Secure Web Gateway.

  • Old view — This view allows you to configure the rules that make up your web policy. You complete this configuration by modifying the default rules that are in place after you have initially set up Secure Web Gateway. You cannot create new rules of your own.

For more information, see About Configuring a Web Policy in the Old View

  • New view — This view allows you to configure the rules that make up your web policy by modifying the default rules that are in place after you have initially set up Secure Web Gateway. It also includes the Rule Builder, which allows you to create new rules of your own.

This view is also referred to as the Web Policy Builder view.

For more information, see About Configuring a Web Policy.

In both the old and new view, you have access to the code view, which shows the code that underlies the rules of your web policy.

You can move from working with the old to the new view, see Upgrade from the Old to the New View of the User Interface.
