This appliance model has six network interfaces, a serial interface, and an RMM interface on its rear panel.
The network interfaces include two onboard interfaces and four interfaces on a built-in IO module on the lower right of the panel.
The network interfaces provide ports, which the operating system assigns names to as follows:

WBG-5000-D and WBG-5500-D
These appliance models use the same hardware platform, which has six network interfaces, a serial interface, and an RMM interface on its rear panel.
The network interfaces include two onboard interfaces, two interfaces on a built-in IO module on the lower right, and two on a network interface card that is preinstalled in a card slot on the upper right.
Four more network interfaces can be added on a network interface card that is installed in the other card slot on the panel. This will increase the number of network interfaces to ten. You must purchase this card on your own and install it.
The network interfaces provide ports, which the operating system assigns names to as follows:

Four more network interfaces on a fiber card can be added to this configuration, which will increase the number of network interfaces to ten.
You must purchase this card on your own and install it in the slot on the upper left.
WBG-5000-E and WBG-5500-E (Alternative Configuration)
In an alternative configuration, these appliance models can be run with six network interfaces as follows:
- Two onboard interfaces
- No built-in IO module
- Two interfaces on a preinstalled network interface card in the slot on the upper right
- Two interfaces on a preinstalled network interface card in the slot on the upper left
You can also purchase a fiber card with four network interfaces and use it in this configuration. Remove the card with two network interfaces from the slot on the upper left then and install this card. This will increase the number of network interfaces to eight.

WBG-5000-E2 and WBG-5500-E2
These appliance models are shipped with four network interfaces as follows:
- Two onboard interfaces
- No built-in IO module
- Two interfaces on a preinstalled network interface card in the slot on the upper right
- No network interface card preinstalled in the slot on the upper left
You can also purchase a fiber card with four network interfaces and install it in the slot on the upper left. This will increase the number of network interfaces to eight for each model.

WBG-5000-F and WBG-5500-F
These appliance models use similar hardware platforms with, for example, the same chassis. They are both shipped with four network interfaces. More network interfaces can be added, see further below in this section.
Each of the four initial network interfaces provides an RJ45 port. They are located on a network interface card (NIC), which is a PCIe riser card that is preinstalled in the slot within the upper right corner on the rear of the appliance box, as shown in the illustration below, where this slot is labeled as (1).
Slots (A1) and (A2) are for installing additional network interface cards. Slot (2) is currently not used for installing a card.
The network interfaces provide ports, which the operating system assigns names to, for example, eth0 or eth1.
More network interfaces with ports can be added to this configuration by installing the following types of network interface cards (NICs):

Fiber network interface card with four network interfaces providing ports and short-range transceivers

Fiber network interface card with four network interfaces providing ports and long-range transceivers
- Copper network interface card with two network interfaces providing ports
The cards can be installed in slots (A1) and (A2) on the rear of an appliance model as shown in the table.
For WBG-5000-F, the number of network interfaces can be increased this way from four to eight. For WBG-5500-F, it can be increased from four to twelve.
